Open a till

Under Mart → Till, choose a till and type the float: the change in the drawer. A till can be open on one device at a time. If yours is still open in your name, choose Carry on.

Add products

  • Scan with a USB or Bluetooth scanner: just scan, there’s nothing to click first.
  • Scan with the camera on a phone or tablet: tap the barcode button, then hold the barcode in the frame.
  • Search by name or barcode, or tap a product. Typing searches every product.
  • Favourites come first: the station’s best sellers. All and the category buttons show the rest.
Change quantities with + and −. A mart manager can give a discount on a line.

Keyboard shortcuts

On a counter with a keyboard: They’re listed under the search box on wide screens. They don’t fire while you’re typing in a box.

Hold a sale

When a customer steps away to fetch something, choose Hold. The sale is put aside and the till is free for the next customer. Held at the top shows how many are waiting; open it and choose Resume to bring one back (anything on the till is held first), or Discard if they don’t come back. Held sales stay on that device until you charge or discard them, and prices are today’s when you resume. Nothing is sold until you charge it, so closing the till warns you about any still held.

Take payment

Choose Charge, then Cash, POS or Transfer. For cash, type or tap what the customer handed over and Gasos shows the change. If they pay part cash, part POS, choose Split payment.

Receipts

After each sale:
  • Print — receipts are laid out for 80mm thermal printers.
  • WhatsApp — sends the customer a link to their receipt. Add their number at payment to fill it in.
  • The printed receipt has a QR code for the same link.
The WhatsApp link and QR code appear once the sale has reached Gasos, usually within seconds.

Returns

A mart manager chooses Return, finds the receipt (scan or type its number, or pick a recent one), and chooses what’s coming back. Returned items go back into stock. You can’t return more than was bought on that receipt.

No internet

The till keeps selling without a connection. Sales are kept on the device and sync in order when the connection is back; the badge shows Offline and how many are waiting. Keep the device on: sales older than 7 days can’t sync. If something is refused when it syncs (a sale on a till that was closed elsewhere, for example), it shows at the top of the till with the reason. Tell the mart manager.
