# Mart stock

> Opening stock, goods received, shelf counts, and how Gasos finds what went missing.

Every sale, return, delivery and count moves stock, so **Mart stock** always shows what should be on the shelf.

## Opening stock

The first time, choose **Opening stock** and type what's on the shelf for each product, with its cost. You only do this once per product.

## Goods received

When a delivery arrives, choose **Goods received**: the supplier, the invoice or waybill number, and each product's units and cost. The cost updates the product's margin.

## Count the shelf

Count weekly. Choose **Count stock** and type what's actually on the shelf. Leave a product empty to skip it. Gasos compares each count with what should be there and records the difference. Losses show in **Stock and shrinkage** under Mart reports.

## Low and out

A product shows as **Low** at its reorder level (set it on the product, per station), and **Out** at zero. Stock never stops a sale: if the shelf has it, sell it. **Below zero** means sales were recorded that the stock doesn't explain: count it.
