# Close the till and the day

> Count the drawer at the end of a shift, then close the mart's day. How the mart's takings reach the station's daily sheet.

## Close your till

At the end of your shift, choose **Close till** and count the drawer note by note, float included. POS and transfers aren't counted here. Gasos works out what the drawer should hold: the float, plus cash taken, less cash refunds.

## Close the mart's day

When every till is closed, the mart manager opens **Mart day** and chooses **Close the day**. Mart day shows:

* each till: float, cash expected, counted, and short or over;
* the day's net sales, cash, POS, transfers and VAT;
* best sellers, and every receipt (open one to reprint it).

Once the day is closed its figures are final, and no till can be opened on that date.

## On the station's daily sheet

The station's sheet has a read-only **Mart** section with the mart's takings for the day, and a link to the mart day. The station manager doesn't close the mart.

* **Mart cash banked separately**: nothing else changes on the sheet.
* **Mart cash handed to the forecourt**: the mart's cash is added to the station's cash to bank, and the sheet can't be submitted until the mart's day is closed.

Lubricants linked to a mart product show what the mart sold of them, with no count needed.
